How does on-site chair massage work?

On-site chair massage does not require a private room. It can be done in any small space like the corner of a conference room or an office. The therapist uses a special chair designed specifically for on-site massage. No oils or creams are used. The recipient is seated and fully clothed. Massage techniques which can be given through clothing are used, and the session focuses on the upper body, head, neck, shoulders, back and arms. All techniques have been adapted to address conditions specific to the modern workplace, helping to reduce the effects of stress and relief of muscle aches and pain. Sessions usually last 10-20 minutes (the length of a typical work break).

It's cost effective!

On-site chair massage is very affordable. It is shorter than a regular massage and costs less.

  • There is no up front investment in equipment and facilities.
  • You pay only for employees who use it.
  • Employees can pay part or all of the cost.
  • Massages can take place on break time so no work time is lost.
  • The program runs itself.

It's good for business

On-site chair massage is a convenient, safe and cost effective addition to a workplace wellness plan. It helps boost employee morale and provides valuable health benefits too. All types of businesses from small offices to large companies can benefit from on-site chair massage. Many businesses today are providing wellness programs in the workplace. Wellness includes, achieving optimum physical and mental well-being. Workers with a higher level of wellness are more productive on the job. Prevention is an essential part of wellness. Workplace wellness programs have been found to cut down on worker's compensation claims and reduce time-off for employee illnesses and injury.

  • Up to 90% of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related complaints.
  • Over 50% of lost work days are stress related.
  • 14% of workers say stress caused them to quit or change jobs in the previous two years.

On-site massage can help

Some of the most costly health problems in the workplace include the high level of stress experienced by employees, physical problems associated with sitting at workstations for a long period of time and repetitive use syndrome. The cost of these health problems to employers is lower productivity, lost work days, worker's compensation claims and other healthcare expenses. On-site massage works because it:

  • Reduces muscle tension and the pain it causes.
  • Calms the nervous system and increases circulation, which boosts energy and alertness.
  • Helps employees identify and release tension on their own before it becomes a problem.
  • Provides a complete change of pace so the body and mind can relax and rejuvenate.

Employees love it

Its a wonderful way to show your employees you care. It's motivational. It gives employees a positive feeling about working for the company. They look forward to their "stress break." It relaxes their muscles and allows them to return feeling refreshed.

  • Increases good feelings about the workplace and loyalty to the company that cares.
  • A great reward for good work, reaching goals or completing projects.
  • A great gift for someone's special occasion such as holidays, birthdays and National Secretary's day.
  • A break during long training sessions.
